I been saying for a long time that Glenn Beck is a total mental case.  I fear he is going to hurt himself or others.  He needs to see a doctor and he needs to be medicated.  They need to make sure he takes his medication.
Now he is very popular with many TV viewers.  His show, I find it hard to believe, is very popular.  It gets great ratings.

I do not have cable TV and so I do not get Fox "news" or his TV show.  From what I have heard he does not have any real advertisers!
Now I have seen this before… I commented on this blog many many years ago about it.  Except it was about Rush Limbaugh.  Yes, Rush Limbaugh used to be on television.  I had a couple of friends that watched his TV show and loved him.  They were telling me…begging me to watch Rush Limbaugh.  I would say sometimes OK I will watch him until he says something stupid.  I would sit about one minute and he would say something stupid and wrong and I would walk away from the TV set.
I told my friends he is not going to be on TV very long.  They will take him off the air.  They would say you are crazy his show is very popular.  Then his TV show was moved to like midnight or one AM.  I told them he is going off the air.  They said no he is so popular and I told them look he has no advertisers.  They would say he has advertisers and they would mention some company I never heard of.  I would tell them that.. No he has no real advertisers and he will go off the TV.  Well it was not long after that he was taken off of TV.
Do not feel sorry for him he was on the radio and has made millions from radio.

"You can read all about it HERE. Luckily, most of these measures failed or were tabled. If you think voting for a republican this year is a good thing and will save your Medicare or Social Security, think again. The republicans don’t give a shit about you. All they care about is their lobbyists who work hard for Wall Street, okay? They would love nothing more for Medicare and Social Security right now to be in the hands of the private sector, you know, no different than how the current health insurance companies are acting: RAISING YOUR RATES BY 30-40% A YEAR AND GIVING YOU LESS AND LESS ALL TO IMPRESS THE INVESTORS OF THESE COMPANIES!

The insurance companies have already said that they will raise American’s insurance rates by 40-50% whether health care reform passes or not. All they care about is the bottom line which is profit and they know a strong public option or single payer will be their deathblow, but do we honestly care about their well-being at this point after all they’ve put the average American through? They’ll find something else to insure (Hey! Maybe they can insure food like Foodinsurance.com advertises on Glenn Beck’s radio program!) or the lower level people will end up working for the government’s insurance option where they’ll find themselves actually doing good in people’s lives rather than finding any excuse not to pay for an American’s surgery etc! See? Could turn out to be a good thing…"

CNN has had a news story posted on their site for the last few days.  If you read the story it tells that the Medicare doctor is making very little money.  If you are not careful when you read it you will come away with the idea that the doctor they are using as an example is making the "equivalent of a minimum wage job."

Some key words in this CNN story are "…After the costs of my own benefits are deducted, that will leave me with the equivalent of a minimum wage job…"
The story does not tell you what his OWN BENEFITS are or how much they are."
This story was a CNN Money report and how they could let him get away with this I am not sure.  If he did not want to tell them that amount then they should not have written and posted the story because they have no story.

Republicans are saying that the President of the United States and the Democrats had better not pass "ObamaCare" (health care).  They are saying that American people do not want it.  They are also saying that it would be unfair and cheating if the Democrats pass the national health care plan.
Republicans are sort of like the old Communist were… I think they are very much like them… They have their own words for things…It is not a national health care plan it is "ObamaCare."  The United States is not a "Democracy." The Republicans say it is a "Republic."  It just gets crazy.  They can not even talk about issues without using their code words.

The Republicans are saying that the "American will" or desire or something is that the health care bill not be passed.
If Congress passes the health care bill THAT is the will of the American people.  The United States does have a (democratic) republic form of government.  We elect people to go to Congress and to do what they think is best for our district, are state and our nation.  If we do not agree with them and we think they did not do a good job then we do not send them back to Congress.
We do NOT want members of Congress to decide what is best by reading the news Fox "news" poll or the current CNN news poll.  We elect them to do what they think is best for the nation.
One of the reasons the Republicans said they hated President Clinton was that they said he read the polls and did what the polls said the American people wanted.
Our founding fathers, the ones the Republican pretend to love so much, were dam sharp men. They knew that there was danger for the United States in mob rule. They feared that at moment the "mob" might want or not want something and they feared that mob rule.  They set up our government and wanted good men to be elected and then those good men would decide and not respond to the fools yelling and scream in the street at the moment.
That is how a Republic works.

So the Republicans are just being Republicans.

If the health care bill is passed then it is the will of the American people because or elected officials voted it.

When President Bush was the president… I can remember Fox "news" saying that it was un-American to disagree with the president because he was THE PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES.

If Congress can pass the health care bill it is not cheating.  It is the way our system works.  When the Republicans had control of Congress they used their power and fucked the Democrats right and left and laughed about it.
There was nothing the Democrats could do.  Republicans loved it and laughed about it.  Now the shoe is on the other foot and the GOP is screaming and crying like a bunch of sissy girls.
I think those  pink panties, that the GOP men have, must be to tight.

“Dear Supporter,

The headlines are ominous. "Large scale health care reform is dead," reads one newspaper. "Time for Democrats to cut their losses?" asks another. But now is not the time for scaling back reform. That’s why we need your help to whip votes for comprehensive health reform.

A comprehensive bill is the only way to fix the health care system – from expanding Medicare benefits and lowering health care costs, to improving rural care and home care services.[*]A piecemeal approach will not address the vast, systemic problems in our health care system.

In the next 72 hours – before President Obama delivers his State of the Union address – we have a real opportunity to rescue health reform. Will you do your part, and find out where your member of Congress stands on passing a comprehensive bill?

Click here to whip a vote for health reform.

Call your members in Congress, and ask them, "Do you plan to support the passage of a comprehensive health reform bill that guarantees affordability and holds insurers accountable?"

Click-to-Call Congress

I’ve talked to some folks who say, "Oh, I know my Congresswoman supports reform. She voted for it last year, so I don’t need to call." But that’s incorrect. Some elected officials, including House members who voted for health reform last year, are considering backing away from comprehensive reform. That’s why everyone needs to call Congress today.

Click-to-call your member of Congress for comprehensive reform.

I can’t stress enough how important your call is today. Let’s finish the job, and finish it right.

I guess it should not come as a surprise to us.  We got kids working fast food and not making much money and the same with the supervisors.  You would think they would have a check list and would be on top of matters like that.
You would think that the chains would have someone that goes from place to place checking on things like that…
I know the health department does not have a lot of man power and there are a lot of places.. But on the other hand.. When you have a problem in one area like this..  You would only need one fucking inspector working on that one problem.  Just give him the tools to check and the power to fine the place on the spot and shut them down right then.  The word would get out to every place in town and they would all be on top of the problem and they would fix the problem.  Believe me if one inspector in one town was going to eating places and had the power to fine them x amount of dollars and plus would shut them down for one week.  That problem would be fixed at almost all of the places right now.
I suspect that the health department fines are not very high. I also bet it is rare for them to shut down any chain fast food place right on the spot and I bet it is rare that the shut down is for very long.  Just think how much money a McDonald’s would lose if they were shut down for one week.  Not just money but customers that would never come back.

Billionaire Rush Limbaugh was discharged from the hospital on Friday.  The conservative billionaire talk show host said there was nothing wrong with his heart.
Rush Limbaugh said that he got the best health care and he went on to say "I don't think there's one thing wrong with the American health care system. It is working just fine."
He urged any millionaire or billionaire with heart or chest pain to seek medical help immediately.

Last year Rush Limbaugh extended his contact with Clear Channel Communications to the year 2016 and that is worth $400 million for him.  We do not know if he has a health care insurance plan or if he has to try and find the money to pay for his own medical care.
It is possible that he owns the hospital.

What will be interesting is for someone to find out the costs of all the things he had done in the hospital.  Starting with the ambulance trip to the hospital.  Find out all the cost and add them up for us.
Then when we have that number ask how would someone with no health insurance pay that amount of money.
Then we need someone to take and check and see how much would different people with different insurance companies come out on the deal.  How much would each of them have to pay after the insurance paid their part.

If you come up with the data please post it here or email it to me and I will post it here.

I have Medicare and this year I have the AARP MedicareComplete insurance plan.
I would have to pay $125.00 for each day I was in the hospital.  I am not sure what the other costs would be and I hope I do not have to find out.

Newt Gingrich, a very smart guy, is saying that the Republicans will run in 2010, and I guess 2012, on repealing the Health Care Reform Bill if it becomes law.  If it does not become law they they could still run on it.
I said Newt is a very smart guy but I think he is wrong on this issue.  If the bill passes and becomes law I think Americans will support it and I think running to repeal it is going to be a big error on the part of the GOP.

Right now lots of Americans are worrying about the bill.  We also do not know all the details of the bill or understand just how it is going to work.  I think between now and the elections many Americans are going to decide they like it.

I think Americans are also going to start thinking and remembering…They are going to remember that the GOP hated Social Security for years.  They wanted to repeal it.  They are also going to remember that President Bush and all the Republicans wanted to turn over Social Security to Wall Street, the banks and the insurance corporations.
They are going to start thinking that the GOP has never had a plan to fix run away heath care costs and the problem of Americans not having health care.
I think the Republicans are going to make a big mistake in trying to repeal healh care.
We are going to start hearing more and more stories from people that have not had health care and that have been fucked over by the insurance corporations.

As a liberal Democrat I hope and pray all the Republicans show their true colors, which are not red white and blue, and run to repeal heath care for Americans.

The title above is from an Op-Ed article in The Washington Post by David S. Broder.  It is a great line “How do you applaud while holding your nose?” and he is talking about the health-care reform bill.
I agree with some of what David S. Broder has to say…

I disagree with him on some major points…
When the Republicans made it 100% clear that they wanted to kill national health care for Americans and they wanted the president to fail and for the United States to suffer so that they could be elected in 2012 then I do not think we should have reached out to the GOP.  I think we should and I hope we did use any and all legal means to go around them or go through them.
The Republicans want no part in this effort to help 30 million American and in fact to help all of us.  I wish we could name the law the FDR/Ted Kennedy Health Care Law.
I would like to rub this into the face of the Republicans.

I am not at all happy with President Obama’s part in all of this…I think he could have taken names and kicked ass.  I think he should have called a spade a spade.  (That is not racist is it?)
On the other hand Democrats have been trying to get national health care insurance for Americans since the days of President Harry Truman and I guess Mr. Broder is saying since the days of FDR.  Even President Clinton could not get it done and under President Obama we are going to get it so I may be wrong about the President.

Mr. Broder objects to the “…angry rhetoric and backroom deals…”
I do not agree.  I think we needed more angry rhetoric from the Democrats.  I think we needed name calling and finger pointing.  Thank God we had Democrats in congress then knew how to make backroom deals.  This was a war.  This was a battle between good and evil.  Let God sort it out later.

CNN reports that the Senate will hold its final vote on the health care bill on Thursday morning.
The Democrats have wanted this since the days of President Harry Truman.  I did not think I would live to see it.  (I may not live to see it in action.  I do not think it kicks in for a few years.)
I am not going to try and talk about the bill here…The CNN story gives some details but when it is voted by the Senate they then have to work out the details between the House bill and the Senate bill.

Just a couple of fast comments…  The un-American Republicans are screaming about middle class Americans being forced to buy health insurance.  They paint a view of police arresting mom and dad because they did not buy health insurance for the family.
The federal government is going to subsidize insurance for a family of four making up to $88K a year.  Plus Medicaid is being expanded to up to a family of four making $33K a year.
Plus there are lots of other things going on with the bill and soon to be law.

If this works health care cost for everyone should be much less.  That means it is going to cost less to see a doctor or be in a hospital.  Health insurance should cost less.
One reason for high health care cost is that we all pay now for those that do not have health care.  If you have health care insurance and you break your arm and you go to the ER let us say it cost you $3500.00 for your ER visit.  Now you may not pay that because your insurance company may pay all of it or you may just pay a small amount.  Well of that $3500.00 bill that the hospital wants you to pay my guess is that $1500.00 or more of it is because the hospital has tons of people that could not pay for their hospital visit and someone has to pay the overhead and all the costs.  So you end up paying for it.  So I think if this bill works I think things will get better.  But …hell yes… It is going to take some hard work and some fine tuning.

The problem I see is the Republicans.  They are not voting for it.  This is Democratic party bill.  The GOP wants it to fail and they are going to do everything in the world they can to make sure it fails.
If the Republicans gain power they will kill the law or fuck it up so it fails.

One question I have is this…  When this bill is passed and signed and becomes law can we say that the United States now joins the rest of the world and has national health care for all Americans?

President Obama says that if we do not pass health care reform that "The Federal Government Will Go Bankrupt."

I am not sure about all of this now.  I got a bad feeling about all of this.  Let me say that I do not agree with John Dean.  I never liked John Dean and I have zero trush or faith in anything that he says.
The Republicans I am sure do not care about the American people and they want everthing to crash and burn so they can blame Obama and get back into Congress.
I got the strong feeling that now the Democrats want to pass any health care bill just so they can say they won and not look like losers.
The Republcans have said that if they get elected they will un-do anything the Democrats have done to get us health care.
I think many Democrats think this health care bill sucks but they think well they will fix it for the next few years while they are in Congress.
I fear this health care bill may just be a big train wreck.  I hope I am wrong.

There is no question that we need national health care for all Americans.
There is no question that the Republicans will never do it and they will fight to keep us from getting it.
Are only hope of getting national health care is the Democrats.
The process of designing a health care bill in Congress I am not sure it can work.
We need some other process.  We need a health care bill written to give the American people national health care. It should not be a bill to pump more money and profit into the health care insurance corporations.  We need a bill written that is the going to fix the problems and then it should be presented to Congress and they should have to vote it into law with out making any changes to it.  I know that is not the way Congress works but we are seeing just how Congress does work and it does not look pretty.
The only other choice I see is that we have more Democrats in Congress.  Hell you would think having 59 Senators would be enough.  But they can not do it with 59 Senators so we need a lot more.   Enought so they do not have to pay any attention to the Republicans at all.  The problem is we are giving the Republicans things and it is destorying the bill.

Washington (CNN) — "Dashing the hopes of Democratic lawmakers Sunday, Sen. Joseph Lieberman signaled he would oppose a health care bill that includes a proposal to expand Medicare to people as young as 55.

The independent Connecticut senator has told Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, that he would vote against the Medicare at 55 proposal. He also said he would oppose cloture and work with the GOP if it ends up in the final version of the bill, two Democratic sources told CNN Sunday.

Unanimous Republican opposition so far means Senate Democrats need all 60 votes in their caucus, which includes Lieberman, to pass the sweeping bill…"

God I hate Sen. Joseph Lieberman.  I have never liked him.  I did not like him when he ran as a Democrat for vice president.  I never liked him but it has turned to true hate.  I hate the cock sucker.
I pray to God that there will be a pay back for Lieberman.  I hope we (Democrats) use him as much as we can and then when we do not need him any  more we kick him out and we take away his chairmanships and take away anything that we can from him.
Let Sen. Joseph Lieberman see what the Republicans will do for him.
Keen in mind that Sen. Joseph Lieberman was born in 1942.  He was elected to the United States Senate in 1988.  If my math is correct HE HAS HAD free government run national health care since he was 46 years old!
He objects to Americans getting national health insurance.  He objects to Americans as young as 55 getting national health care.  He has had it since he was 46 years old.
Plus if we did open up Medicare to people at age 55 it would not be free.  I am 68 years old and I pay $100.00 a month for it.  I will bet that Sen. Lieberman and the everyone of the Republicans in the Senate do not pay one dollar for their national health care. I am going to be spending $50.00 a month, at least, for my medications in 2010.  I bet Sen. Lieberman and the Republicans in the Senate do not pay one cent for their medications.
We want to keep medical information private but I bet you and I spent a lot of money to pay for Sen. Lieberman's viagra.

All 58 Senate Democrats — along with independent Sens. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Bernie Sanders of Vermont — supported bringing the measure to the floor…"

Since Harry S. Truman was President of the United States the Democrats have been trying to get health care for all Americans.  At last it looks like it is going to happen.  The Republicans, like always, have been fighting it tooth and nail.
The Republicans have never been for anything that helps the working man.  They hated Social Security and FDR.  A few years ago they had to lie and say they were for SS.  Then later they wanted to turn it over to Wall Street and the banks and big money people in the stock market.
It now looks like we are going to get health care for all Americans.  We are just about the last nation in the world to give health care to their citizens.

There are good Americans that have deep concerns about this health care bill.  I can understand their worry…But if we do not get it now…Then when will Americans have national health care?
We know the Republicans will do anything to keep us from getting it and they are still very close to getting their evil sick slick deed done.
If the Republicans had a plan of their own…Or if we could trust them …which we can not…If they did care about the working man…
Right now this is the time and we are so very close…I love it that national health care is going to be a 100% Democratic law.
Sure the Republicans are going to spend the next few years pointing up every problem that comes up with it and it is a major project there will be problems.

By the way…I and all other people on Social Security already have national health care…By the way everyone of the Republicans in Congress already have a national health care plan.
Now all American are going to have health care.
I think the health care plan will work…It will have problem that take time to fix but Americans will no longer have to go without health care.  There will be fewer people in emergency rooms…More people taking care of minor problems before they turn into major medical problems.

Sen. Joe Lieberman voted with the Democrats.  I suspect that someone had a talk with him.

A radiation leak at Three Mile Island contaminated about 100 employees Saturday afternoon, according to a TMI official…"   6ABC.COM

The 1979 event could have been death for thousands and could have ended up with an area in Pennsylvania that no one could live in for thousands of years.
The problem with nuclear power is accidents like this but the real problem is getting rid of the waste from nuclear power stations.

Dax is a 2 year old boy from Washington, IL who has terminal AML- a rare form of leukemia. His parents, Austin & Julie Locke,  have been told that he probably only has anwhere from 4-8 weeks left. A patient of St. Jude, Dax underwent chemo, 2 bone marrow transpants & other procedures. He has a tumor on his spine & the leukemia is everywhere. He did receive radiation on his spine this week  for the tumor as a pallative measure- so Dax wouldn't loose control over his arms, legs, bladder for his death. Sadly, there's nothing further medicine can do for Dax. It is very devastating.

Everyone wants to know what they can do for Dax. The family has requested that everyone "Decorate for Dax". They want everyone to pull out their Christmas lights a little early this year. Already in his neighborhood, as you will see in the video, neighbors are decorating. The decorations started going up the day after Halloween. Inside Dax's house is a tree & friends put a 22 ft lighted "tree" in the back yard. They have been inudated with presents for Dax- which he opens in the mornings. Dax loves Christmas lights! It is not known if he will be here @ Christmas. There is a website: www.decoratefordax.com  where people can take pics & post them for Dax to see & to see the posts from people in this area & around the country.  The family also has a informational website/journal @ http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/daxlocke

A news story was posted last night at : http://centralillinoisproud.com/content/fulltext/?cid=85322

I went through the neighborhood last night before the new story even aired & was delighted to see the Christmas decorations. I sobbed like a baby, but was overjoyed @ the show & support for this family who may not have their baby here @ Christmas time. It's unusual to see Christmas lights up so early, but this year, there's a good reason.

You can join in Decorate For Dax by decorating and taking a photo & sharing it on the Decorate For Dax website listed above- no matter where you live!  You can also make a donation in Dax's name to St. Jude. The family plans on making a rememberance scapbook of all the lights. Help them make this sad time a fond rememberance of the outpouring of love & support.

National health care for Americans narrowly passed the House.  One Republican voted for the bill.  The Republicans do not want Americans to have national health care and they do not want health care reform.  They had nothing to offer and now they have made their bet.  They hope and pray that all Americans do not have health care and they hope and pray that there are problems so they can get elected in 2010 and turn back the clock to their old ways to doing things.
The Democrats have been trying to get national health care since Harry S Truman was President of the United States.  Republicans have been fighting to keep the United States from having health care for all.  The Republicans have been trying to do away with Social Security since the Democrats passed it under FDR.
If the health care for all passes in the Senate then the Republicans will do all they can to make sure it does not work.
When it is a success, the way Social Security is, the Republicans will refuse to accept it and fight it and lie about it and try and get rid of it.  When that does not work they will say of course we support national health care but they will want to make it private … They will want to turn it over to the insurance companies to run.  They will want to turn it over to banks, Wall Street corporations to manage for you.

“…The Affordable Health Care for America Act, or H.R. 3962, restricts insurance companies from denying coverage to anyone with a pre-existing condition or charging higher premiums based on gender or medical history. It also provides federal subsidies to those who cannot afford it and guarantees coverage for 96 percent of Americans, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office…”   CNN

The Senate has to pass this bill now and the President has to sign it.  The GOP is going to pull out everything they got to fight this…Every lie they can come up with… It is going to be a battle between good (Democrats) and evil (Republicans).  The Democrats fighting to give all Americans health care and the Republicans fighting to keep Americans from having health care.
Who will win?  Will big insurance corporations win or will the American people win?
