"In an effort to critically analyze another piece of pop music, Glenn Beck and his sidekicks reached the conclusion that Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 hit "Born in the U.S.A." is critical of America and, therefore, unpatriotic. In fact, the song was deemed so unpatriotic by the former shock jock’s crew that co-host Pat Gray declared it to be "anti-American." This simplistic version of patriotism appears to leave little room for any criticism of America, its policy, or the behavior of its people.
After Gray revisited Beck’s earlier deconstruction of Woody Guthrie’s "This Land Is Your Land," the gang turned its collective attention to Springsteen, with Gray getting the ball rolling by noting that Fourth of July fireworks displays often include "Born in the U.S.A." in the musical medley. Beck then broke into a spoken word version of the song:…"

You may remember that just a very short time after the State of the Union address I commented about the actions of the Chief Justice at the address. I gave him a pass and said no big deal.
I also, at the time, said that it was sort of stupid to have the court there in the front row but that they could not show any feelings. They should not smile or clap or do anything.
I it might be a good idea for them from now on just watch it on TV and not attend. I said they should not say it was for some reason or place any blame or anything.
Now the Chief Justice, John Roberts, labeled the political atmosphere at the State of the Union address "very troubling." Wow that is such a break with history and tradition that I can not believe that he would say such a thing and on top of that he says it leaves him questioning whether the justices should continue to attend.
Justices just do not make statements like that.. They have a tradition and a history of being very careful what they say and for him to do such a break with tradition is just wrong.
See CNN story
Justices are turning over in their graves right now.
I have just given up on any Republican and on the Republican party. I can only hope and pray that some new party comes along to replace them.
Here are the remarks I made here on January 29th about the State of the Union address.

I have said that if it was in the 18 hundreds that I would vote for Ron Paul (R-Texas) for president. The United States Congress voted to encourage everyone to take part in the 2010 census.
The census is one of the few things in the Constitution of the United States. Ron Paul’s whole platform is that he is just for the Constitution and nothing else. His stand is that if the founding fathers did not call for it and vote for it then he is not for it.
What I would love is for the people of Texas to not answer the census questions. I would love for them to not be counted.
I would love it if they lost all of their house seats or half of them or just a few of them. That would be so fucking funny. It would be great if there was no 14th Texas District. No seat for Ron Paul.
Ron Paul is sort of a joke but next to the rest of the people in the Republican party he seems normal.
I think it is sort of anti-American or un-American to not be for the census.
If we can not count the people and get a little bit of an idea about them how can the nation operate. How do we know if a post office is needed in an area? How do we know if we need to build or expand a VA hospital? The list just goes on and on…
Ron Paul wants to count people period.
Even business and corporations all use the census information. They want to know how many people and what ages and what income to decided if they would build an office, build a store or open a fast food store.
Now if you or I say they don’t need information.. Well what the hell do we know about government… But for a United States Congressman to not want data … Well it just make Ron Paul look like a fool.

I been saying for a long time that Glenn Beck is a total mental case. I fear he is going to hurt himself or others. He needs to see a doctor and he needs to be medicated. They need to make sure he takes his medication.
Now he is very popular with many TV viewers. His show, I find it hard to believe, is very popular. It gets great ratings.
I do not have cable TV and so I do not get Fox "news" or his TV show. From what I have heard he does not have any real advertisers!
Now I have seen this before… I commented on this blog many many years ago about it. Except it was about Rush Limbaugh. Yes, Rush Limbaugh used to be on television. I had a couple of friends that watched his TV show and loved him. They were telling me…begging me to watch Rush Limbaugh. I would say sometimes OK I will watch him until he says something stupid. I would sit about one minute and he would say something stupid and wrong and I would walk away from the TV set.
I told my friends he is not going to be on TV very long. They will take him off the air. They would say you are crazy his show is very popular. Then his TV show was moved to like midnight or one AM. I told them he is going off the air. They said no he is so popular and I told them look he has no advertisers. They would say he has advertisers and they would mention some company I never heard of. I would tell them that.. No he has no real advertisers and he will go off the TV. Well it was not long after that he was taken off of TV.
Do not feel sorry for him he was on the radio and has made millions from radio.

Well the great news was not so great. Pakistan did not get Adam Gadahn the American al Qaeda spokesman. See my post here about it: Adam Gadahn
Now if we would just listen to Glenn Beck he had the right idea. He said that anytime we get our hands on someone like this that right away we should
SHOOT THEM IN THE HEAD
He said to do it right away.. If we had followed his advice then this guy would be dead and in the ground and we would have him dead. I am not sure what we should do when he turned up with new videos.
Now we got this guy who is some farmer or something and we need to listen to our ex-vice president and the Republicans. We just water board the hell out of him. Hell it is not our fault that he looks like Adam Gadahn. It is his fault. Plus he does not believe in Jesus Christ and has a towel on his head … So just water board him until he confesses and it is my understand that if you water board someone they will tell you anything and everything to get you to stop. I know I would.. You even start to water board me and I will confess to being Adam Gadahn and sign or do anything you want.
So we can listen to Glenn Beck and shoot guys like this in the head RIGHT AWAY or we can listen to our ex-vice president and the Republicans and water board them and then ship there ass off to Gitmo.
So it is not big deal when we get the wrong guy.

Tom DeLay knows the American worker and he knows why the unemployment rate is so high. It is because Americans are lazy ass mother fuckers. The reason the unemployment rate is so high is because some workers have had unemployment benefits. That is why there are almost 10% of Americans with out jobs.
Tom DeLay and the Republicans have the answers. Let the unemployed get hungry and have their children crying because they need food and those lazy ass fat Americans will go out and get a job.
The Republicans have been cutting taxes on the rich for years so that those people could create jobs for those workers. The Republicans have been giving tax breaks to the corporations to create jobs for Americans.
What does the American worker want? He wants full time jobs. He wants a job with health benefits. He wants a wage that he can live on. Some of the worst (mostly communist) want a union.
Thank God for men like Tom DeLay. A great Republican that knows what the American worker needs and deserves. Tom DeLay knows that you cut taxes and give more money to the rich and that they create the jobs.
You want to get people back to work? Do away with unemployment benefits.

"You can read all about it HERE. Luckily, most of these measures failed or were tabled. If you think voting for a republican this year is a good thing and will save your Medicare or Social Security, think again. The republicans don’t give a shit about you. All they care about is their lobbyists who work hard for Wall Street, okay? They would love nothing more for Medicare and Social Security right now to be in the hands of the private sector, you know, no different than how the current health insurance companies are acting: RAISING YOUR RATES BY 30-40% A YEAR AND GIVING YOU LESS AND LESS ALL TO IMPRESS THE INVESTORS OF THESE COMPANIES!
The insurance companies have already said that they will raise American’s insurance rates by 40-50% whether health care reform passes or not. All they care about is the bottom line which is profit and they know a strong public option or single payer will be their deathblow, but do we honestly care about their well-being at this point after all they’ve put the average American through? They’ll find something else to insure (Hey! Maybe they can insure food like Foodinsurance.com advertises on Glenn Beck’s radio program!) or the lower level people will end up working for the government’s insurance option where they’ll find themselves actually doing good in people’s lives rather than finding any excuse not to pay for an American’s surgery etc! I am sure that the right wing gang will love the show but I do not think it will go over well with others to see that much of Sara Palin. I got the feeling that for many people the less you see and hear her the better you like her.
It looks like Sara Palin is out to make as much money as she can and it looks like she is willing to do just about anything to make the money. I think a "reality" TV show is an error.

An internal Republican National Committee presentation said that Republican donors were "ego-driven" and could be enticed with "techochkes."
RNC Chairman Michael Steele has condemned the now public document.
"Steele was asked in the Fox interview about the presentation’s negative portrayal of Republican donors, to which he responded cryptically: "I was told that that is typical what people think about our donors, or think about donors generally." But, he added, "That is not the case for our donors. Our donors are compassionate, concerned, activists out there who support a party that they believe in.".." CNN story
It is sort of odd that the RNC would say bad things about their donors and supporters.
On the other hand I do not think "compassionate" is something that I would call Republican donors.

"(CNN) — Should Ulysses S. Grant, the legendary Union general and 18th president of the United States, be bumped from his 96-year stint on the $50 bill?
Yes, according to one North Carolina Republican.
Rep. Patrick McHenry announced that he will introduce a measure that would replace Grant’s face with Ronald Reagan’s, just in time for the 40th president’s 100th birthday next February…"
I did not hear anything about this… But I saw a poll on CNN. The poll was do you think President Grant should be taken off the $50 bill and President Reagan put on the $50 bill.
I was thinking OH NO. Then I checked the voting and 78% said NO.
Now President Grant has been on the 50 dollar bill for 96 years. President Grant was not all that great of a president. But keep in mind that he was GENERAL Ulysses S. Grant and I guess Rep. Patrick McHenry (of North Carolina) never heard of the Civil War. Thank God it appears from the vote that American people of heard about the war between the states and General Grant’s part in that war.
Now President Reagan was NO General Grant. President Reagan may have played some part in a civil war movie but President Reagan was not in World War II. He was a movie actor during WWII.
Now President Reagan, I think, was a better president than President Grant but Reagan was NOT one of our greatest presidents. No matte what the starry eyed Republicans want to believe. Was he better than President Bush (II) oh my God yes. Of course President Bush (II) was the worst president that the United States has ever had in the entire history of the the nation.

After Siskel’s death in 1999, Ebert teamed with Richard Roeper for the television series Ebert & Roeper & the Movies, which began airing in 2000. Although his name remained in the title, Ebert did not appear on the show after mid-2006, when he suffered post-surgical complications related to thyroid cancer which left him unable to speak. Yahoo News has an AP story; "Buzz and bullets: Gun fans cheer Starbuck’s policy."
"By GREG BLUESTEIN, Associated Press Writer – Sun Feb 28, 3:28 pm ET
Dale Welch recently walked into a Starbucks in Virginia, handgun strapped to his waist, and ordered a banana Frappuccino with a cinnamon bun. He says the firearm drew a double-take from at least one customer, but not a peep from the baristas.
Welch’s foray into the coffeehouse was part of an effort by some gun owners to exercise and advertise their rights in states that allow people to openly carry firearms.
Even in some "open carry" states, businesses are allowed to ban guns in their stores. And some have, creating political confrontations with gun owners. But Starbucks, the largest chain targeted, has refused to take the bait, saying in a statement this month that it follows state and local laws and has its own safety measures in its stores.
"Starbucks is a special target because it’s from the hippie West Coast, and a lot of dedicated consumers who pay $4 for coffee have expectations that Starbucks would ban guns. And here they aren’t," said John Bruce, a political science professor at the University of Mississippi who is an expert in gun policy…"
I agree with the statement by Peter Hamm a spokesman for the Brady campaign.
"If you want to dress up and go out and make a little political theater by frightening children in the local Starbucks, if that’s what you want to spend your energy on, go right ahead," said Peter Hamm, a spokesman for the Brady campaign. "But going out and wearing a gun on your belt to show the world you’re allowed to is a little juvenile."
The coffeehouse debate has been particularly poignant for gun-control advocates in Washington state, where four uniformed police officers were shot and killed while working on their laptops at a suburban coffeehouse. The shooter later died in a gun battle with police…"
The pro gun people do not like it that a hospital or shopping mall or some other place has a policy that no guns are allowed.
I have been shot at… I have had a family member shot and killed. I have had friends shot and killed.
I was a member of the NRA for many years when I was very young. I carried, in the line of duty, a handgun from 1971 to November of 1999.
I am not anti-gun but pro gun people would think that I was anti-gun big time. I think that there should be a three day waiting period before a person can buy a handgun. During that time the police should do a background check on the person. I believe there should be some sort of limits on assault rifles. I think that gun records should be on file with the FBI or ATF department and not removed after x number of day from the system. I think there should be some sort of limit on high capacity clips. Well you get the idea.
The gun nuts want not only the right to "open carry" a weapon they want the right to take it on private property. They want their rights but they do not want you to have any rights. If you own or manage some property or business they do not want you to post a sign saying no guns allowed.
Now just why would you not want to allow someone to walk into your busy business with a gun or their hip? I guess we could ask some banks why they have a sign on their door saying take off your hat and sun glasses before entering the bank. Does the bank have that right? Can they make a rule like that for their business? Why can’t a business have the right to say no guns allowed?

It is interesting… Because of the far right Republicans, because of Faux News, the tea baggers and the sort of people at the Conservative Political Action Conference … John McCain and Ron Paul may end up not getting re-elected.
How odd and strange is that?
Hell Rep Ron Paul (R-TX) was the winner of the presidential poll at the CPAC meeting last week.
On John McCain I have said a lot of nice things about him. During the election when the bank/money/credit issue came up I said then he could win the election by taking a position that the bail out was wrong and let the banks and Wall Street stand or fall on their own. He did not do that. If he had said that I am not sure what would have happened to the United States. I think he would have been elected but God what might have happened to the nation.
But when he picked Sara Palin I lost all respect for him. What he did was to win the election with his age we could have ended up with her as President of the United States. How he could do something like that just was so un-like his life long service to the United States.
About Ron Paul I have said that he would make a great president IF this was 1800.
Trying to have a nation like George Washington had just will not work. This is not 1800 it is 2010. There have been a few changes to the United States and the world.
When you have crazy people in your party and they are out starting fires you never know who is going to get burned. I think that is what could happen to Republicans.
It is also interesting that some in the Republican party are starting to say..
that the crazy extremists are hurting the Republican party.
They are just now saying it after the CPAC meeting.
Remember before the CPAC meeting I was saying that Gingrich at the CPAC meeting should make a speech and tell the truth to the extremists and I said it would be a great hour for him…I said it would be the end of him in the Republican party but he would be a man of honor and everyone would be talking about him not just now but for all time. Well it seems I was wrong.. That would not gone over at the CPAC meeting and might have had to have security escort him out of the building but I was wrong.. About him being dead for all time.. Because right now others in the party are saying that something like that needs to be done.
I think it is going to be hard for the true Republicans to get control of their party back… Because Republicans tend to go for the easy anti-thinking scream and yell and cry and lie.. Just look at Faux News and Glenn Beck.
It is interesting. If you start a fire you may lose control of the fire and you never know who is going to get burned.

I am no fan of Charlie Crist. I think he will do or say anything to get elected and that he wants to be President of the United States one day. (Many people believe he would be our first gay president. One of my sons thinks that Lincoln was our first gay president.)
So now Republicans are saying well look at Charlie Crist’s state (FL). They say it is in a mess because of him. (Keep in mind Crist is a Republican.) Florida is in a big mess and it is the fault of Republicans. It is because of Republican politics in the state.

Republicans are saying that the President of the United States and the Democrats had better not pass "ObamaCare" (health care). They are saying that American people do not want it. They are also saying that it would be unfair and cheating if the Democrats pass the national health care plan.
Republicans are sort of like the old Communist were… I think they are very much like them… They have their own words for things…It is not a national health care plan it is "ObamaCare." The United States is not a "Democracy." The Republicans say it is a "Republic." It just gets crazy. They can not even talk about issues without using their code words.
The Republicans are saying that the "American will" or desire or something is that the health care bill not be passed.
If Congress passes the health care bill THAT is the will of the American people. The United States does have a (democratic) republic form of government. We elect people to go to Congress and to do what they think is best for our district, are state and our nation. If we do not agree with them and we think they did not do a good job then we do not send them back to Congress.
We do NOT want members of Congress to decide what is best by reading the news Fox "news" poll or the current CNN news poll. We elect them to do what they think is best for the nation.
One of the reasons the Republicans said they hated President Clinton was that they said he read the polls and did what the polls said the American people wanted.
Our founding fathers, the ones the Republican pretend to love so much, were dam sharp men. They knew that there was danger for the United States in mob rule. They feared that at moment the "mob" might want or not want something and they feared that mob rule. They set up our government and wanted good men to be elected and then those good men would decide and not respond to the fools yelling and scream in the street at the moment.
That is how a Republic works.
So the Republicans are just being Republicans.
If the health care bill is passed then it is the will of the American people because or elected officials voted it.
When President Bush was the president… I can remember Fox "news" saying that it was un-American to disagree with the president because he was THE PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES.
If Congress can pass the health care bill it is not cheating. It is the way our system works. When the Republicans had control of Congress they used their power and fucked the Democrats right and left and laughed about it.
There was nothing the Democrats could do. Republicans loved it and laughed about it. Now the shoe is on the other foot and the GOP is screaming and crying like a bunch of sissy girls.
I think those pink panties, that the GOP men have, must be to tight.

"February 25, 2010 6:48 pm ET by Solange Uwimana
Never one to miss an opportunity to attack President Obama, the first lady, or health care reform on his radio show (not necessarily in that order), Rush Limbaugh managed to hit all three in the span of a few seconds today while mocking Obama’s health care summit. Limbaugh, referring to Obama’s anecdote about having to rush his daughters to the emergency room, stated:
LIMBAUGH: Any person in America, from the richest guy in the country to the cheapest, poorest illegal immigrant can do exactly the same thing Obama just described and that’s go to the emergency room. And Tom Coburn made that point. Everybody gets treated in this country. That’s not what we’re here talking about. We’re talking about fraud, waste — we just need to get it out of there.
Now, why, since Obama just described this wonderful system where his two daughters — two fat daughters, according to his wife — his two fat daughters came down with some sort of a disease and had to rush them to the emergency room, why design a system that destroys the very best private health care that he says he’s so thankful for?…"
The above is from MediaMatters for America and they say that Michelle Obama never called her daughters fat.
What I would add is how in the hell can a fat pig like Rush Limbaugh call anyone fat?
The other thing that I want to add is that this show just how fucking stupid Rush Limbaugh is and how he lies to his listeners.
I think he knows the truth and I think you even understand it .. But let me try and lay it out to with a made up example…
OK you work for a company that has health insurance and you pay $150.00 a month for the health insurance and the company pays $200.00 a month for you. OK you have a family doctor and lots of little things get seen in his office and you can call his office if you a question or need something simple.
OK stick with me here.. You have something happen that you have to go to the emergency room at the hospital. What do you find when you get to the ER? It is full. All the carts are full of patients. You are going to have to wait hours in the waiting room to be seen (unless you have a real emergency). The ER and the halls and the waiting rooms are filled with people that want to be seen in the ER and this is important because they do NOT have health care insurance…They are not seeing a family doctor. They do not have a family doctor. They can not call a doctor’s office and ask a simple question. The only way they can get health care is to go the the EMERGENCY room of a HOSPITAL.
OK hang in here a bit with me… Now the reason are system is fucked is because the people have no access to health care so they go to the ER. NOW.. it cost a lot to be seen in an ER.
Now so they see you in the ER and treat you and tell you to follow up with your family doctor and you do. The other people, who do not have a family doctor, will be told the same thing but most of them will end up coming back to the ER. Some the next day and some the next week.
Now the hospital bills your insurance company for $900.00 because you were seen in the ER. Since you were not admitted to the hospital you have to pay $100.00 on the bill.
Now all those other people get billed, the ones with no insurance, and of course they can not pay.
So who is paying for them.. YOU ARE.. YOU ARE.. That is why your bill was $900.00 and not $400.00 and that is why you are paying $100.00 of the bill and not $25.00 of the bill.
If we had national health care… When you went to the ER there would not be a wait to be seen for hours and hours. I have gone to work and seen people waiting to be seen in the ER and I have worked my 8 hour shift and gone home and those people are still waiting to be seen.
I have be on duty in the ER and seen a patient come into the ER to be seen and wait hours and hours and say "FUCK THIS PLACE" and say they were going to another hospital and leave and come back hours later and say "I am sorry. The other hospital had a wait for hours also and I want to be seen here."
Now again.. Since we do not have national health care insurance you and your insurance company are paying for all those people being seen in the ER. If we had national health care insurance you would not have to pay $150.00 a month for health care insurance. The company you work for would not have to pay $200.00 a month for you. They might pay $100.00 a month for you and give you an increase in pay.
Here is the good part buddy… If we do not get a national health care plan … It is only going to get worst. Your wait at the ER will be longer and you will have to pay more for health care insurance and your company will have to pay more for you. Then after that it will get worst because your company will not be willing to or able to pay those costs. They will do away with health care insurance or make you pay so much that you can not pay your other bills or the company you work for will have to cut the number of employees because of health care costs.
Listen to me and believe me YOU ARE PAYING RIGHT NOW for all those people that Rush says go to the ER and get "free" treatment. It is not free. You and I are paying for it. We have been paying for it for a long time.
Rush is a stupid fat mother fucker and does not know what he is talking about.
The Republicans are fucking you and they know what they are doing. They do not care about you.
